About me

I am a Stanford University trained, board certified adult psychiatrist. I graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with a BA in Biology and Women's Studies. I then spent several years doing medical research at Duke before attending medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Initially intending to pursue a career in Orthopedic Surgery, I was drawn to Psychiatry for the opportunity to help patients at their most vulnerable times with a combination of medication, therapy, and lifestyle approaches. I was the recipient of the Thrasher Award in medical school for outstanding performance and ability in psychiatry.

After medical school I spent four years at Stanford University, where I completed my internship and psychiatry residency. I was selected as a Chief Resident at Stanford based on leadership and teaching ability. While at Stanford I received specialized training for a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and reproductive psychiatry. In addition to private practice, I have worked in academic settings, group practices, and community health centers.
